Meet Our Pastor:
Pastor T. DuWayne Privette, M.Div.

Pastor T. DuWayne Privette is a native of Los Angeles, CA.  But has lived most of his life on the east coast. 

Pastor Privette has attended the greatest schools of Adventist education, graduating from Pine Forge Academy (PFA) in 1990, and Oakwood College (OC) in 1995 where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology.  By June 2000 he received a Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary.

During his matriculation thru Andrews University, he met the woman he would eventually marry.  God blessed him, with a beautiful and talented woman named, Theresa, also of Los Angeles, CA.  True to the word of God (Proverbs 18:22), she is a “good thing” and blesses his ministry with the favor of God.  It is this favor that has blessed them with two lovely, smart, talented, and God-fearing children, daughter Azrielle and son, Jaiel.

Pastor Privette has had the privilege of serving God as an Assistant Pastor of the Dupont Park, Hadley, and Columbia Community Seventh-day Adventist Churches under the senior pastor leadership of Dr. Jonathan Thompson. 

In 2003, Pastor Privette became the pastor of the warm and wonderful Cherry Hill SDA Church, presently known as the New Beginnings SDA Church.  It was during his 10-year ministry there that he was ordained into full-time ministry, served as the unofficial school pastor at Baltimore Jr. Academy where he would teach, counsel, give bible studies and serve as the vice-chair of the school board.  He also served as the Secretary of both, the Baltimore Area Ministerium and the Cherry Hill Ministerial Alliance. He did this while dealing with one of the most challenging tasks, that being taking his church through a church fire that destroyed their building in 2008.  But, by 2013 they were able to purchase a church outright, with funds to upgrade the facility to their liking.  To God Be the glory.

By 2014, Pastor Privette was reassigned to the Sharon SDA Church in the northeast section of Baltimore, MD.  His tenure would be short; nevertheless, God would bless him to enjoy great relationships that will last for eternity.

Most recently, in August 2016, Pastor Privette was installed as the pastor of the Calvary SDA Church and School in Newport News, VA.  Who knows what God has in store for this union of pastor, church, school, and community, but one thing is clear, Pastor T. DuWayne Privette has one focus, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  John 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all to me.”  For him, Calvary is more than a name, it is a lifestyle that transforms people into kingdom citizens.
